This Privacy Policy explains how NeoTutor ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Bhavdip Dhameliya ("the Developer"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application (package com.neotutor). NeoTutor is an AI-powered learning assistant that provides tutoring, scanning, summarization, and content-generation features.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Content you provide

To answer your questions and power its features, the App processes content you choose to submit, including:

• Text you type, such as questions, prompts, and tool inputs.
• Photos and images you capture with the camera or select from your device (for Scan & Solve and text recognition).
• Audio and video files (and YouTube links) you provide for summarization.

This content is sent securely to our cloud services solely to generate a response and is not used to build an advertising profile of you.

Usage and diagnostic data

• App usage events (for example, features opened, screens viewed, tools used) collected through Firebase Analytics to help us understand and improve the App.
• Device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, general region, and crash/diagnostic data.
• Anonymous app-integrity identifiers generated by Firebase App Check to protect our backend from abuse.

Data stored on your device

Your chat history, saved sessions, and in-app coin balance are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. Uninstalling the App removes this data.

2. Permissions We Request

Camera and microphone are only accessed when you actively use a feature that requires them. We do not access these in the background.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the App's core features (tutoring, scanning, OCR, summarization, and content generation).
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
• To apply fair-use limits and prevent abuse of our services.
• To display advertising and, where applicable, offer premium features.
• To respond to your support requests.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the App. These providers process data under their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, App Check, Cloud Functions) — usage analytics and secure backend. Firebase Privacy
• Google Cloud & Vertex AI (Gemini) — processes your submitted text, images, audio, and video to generate AI responses. Google Cloud Privacy
• Google Cloud Vision — optical character recognition (extracting text from images).
• Google AdMob — serves advertisements within the App. Google Ads Policy

The App uses the Android Advertising ID through Google AdMob to show ads and, where permitted, to personalize them and measure ad performance. Where consent is required (for example, in the EEA/UK), advertising and any use of the Advertising ID are governed by the consent choices you make through the in-app consent prompt. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

5. Data Sharing and Retention

We do not sell your personal information. Content you submit is shared only with the service providers listed above for the purpose of delivering the feature you requested. We retain diagnostic and analytics data only for as long as needed to operate and improve the App. Content submitted to our AI backend is processed to generate your response and is not used to train models or advertise to you.

6. Children's Privacy

NeoTutor is intended for general educational use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• You can clear locally stored data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
• You can manage notification permissions in your device settings.
• Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us to make a request.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and app-integrity verification, to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
